John Lynch was the son of Bernard Lynch of Kibberidogue and ? McElroy and a half brother of my Patrick Lynch. He married Mary McCabe of Cortagher and had children, Francis, Patrick, John (b. abt. 1843), James and Helen (possibly also a daughter Ann).

Francis married Ann Carroll of Drumshancorrick, Roslea. They had children, John (b. 1863), James (b. 1864), Catherine (b. 1867) and Mary Anne (b. 1870).

Patrick 'Long' Lynch married Fadley McMahon (*Note: This McMahon woman was Mary*). Mary was daughter of Michael McMahon and Ellen Sloey of Cornacrieve

James married Rose Scott of Tonydrumullard, Roslea, on 8th Feb 1864. They had children, James (1867), Patrick (1870), Francis (1873) and ? (1877). In 1911 this family were living in house number 4 in Corlaghalloon townland... It lists their son Patrick but the year of birth does not seem close enough to Patrick in the Sacred Heart births so either they had the wrong son here or perhaps the Patrick born in 1870 died and they named another son Patrick later on.

John married Susan Maguire (b. abt. 1860) of Dernacloy on 6th Jan 1878. Susan's parents were John Maguire and Catherine Flanaghan of Dernacloy.

Helen married John McCaffry of Cornaguage on 14th Jan 1868. John's parents were Hugh McCaffry and Margaret McMahon of Cornaguage. They had daughter Catherine Ellen in 1871.

John Lynch and Susan Maguire had the following children...

Agnes (1899 - 1978), Rose (1902), Philamina (1904), Kate (1897 - 1975), Bridgette (1898 - 1985), Susanna (1880), Thomas (1885 - 1960), Mary (1893 - 1979), Brian (1901), Joseph (1890 - 1977) and John Jr. (1882 - 1971).

Below is this Lynch household in the 1911 Census. They were living in house number 3 in Tibberidogue townland.

Kate married Edward 'Ned Jock' Maguire and had children, Hugh (1923), Johnny J. (1920) and Vincent.

Bridgette married Frank Cairns (also spelled Kearns) and had children Jim, Marie C. and Philamina.

Susanna married John Swift

Thomas married Susan Cassidy and had children, Susanna Agnes (1911 - 1962), John Thomas (1912 - 1995), Luke Sebastian (1913 - 1970), Vincent Gerard (1916 - 1979) and Veronica S. (1919 - 1998)

Brian married Rose ?

Joesph married Elizabeth Connolly and had children, Susan (1928), John Joe (1929), Felix (1930), Patrick (1931), Kevin (1933), Agnes (1937), Teresa (1939), Rosemary (1941), Patricia (1942), Tierney (1945) and Dympna (1948)

John married Mary Ann Manley (we think from Crockawaddy or Knockawaddy) and had children Agnes, Vera, Jerry, Thomas, vincent and ?. This family immigrated to USA.

Mary married Harry Black and had a son Harry. Mary had emigrated to USA.

Some of John Lynch and Susan Maguire's children went to live in Blantyre in Scotland ended up in USA. In 1963 a Reunion was reported in the Providence journal, USA, under the title 'Four sisters United after 50 years'. My cousin, Robert Black, has kindly donated the news clipping taken from the newspaper and you can view it here

In 1966, another reunion was reported, this time in the Fermanagh Herald, Ireland, under the title 'Family Reunion at Roslea'. Robert has also sent me a copy of the news clipping, which you can view here
