I am in the process of putting together a page dedicated to the Lynch family and relations of the branch of Conlaw Peter Lynch who immigrated to Cheraw, Chesterfield, South Carolina, U.S.A. With the help of family files received from a new contact and distant cousin of mine, Susie Reinert, who is married to a great great great grandson of Conlaw Peter Lynch, I will attempt to outline the family and connections. A huge thank you to Susie! I will also refer to other documentation wherever it is available, such as old letters, obituaries, records and news stories.
Note: The name Neison I have seen spelled in various ways depending on the documentation, e.g. in the Lynch family register written by Bishop Patrick Neison Lynch it is spelled Neison and yet i have seen it spelled Neeson and Neilson on other documentation. My personal theory is that Bishop Lynch would no doubt have been the person most likely to know how to spell his own name. Therefore I will use this spelling so as not to jump from one variant to another.

According to a notebook, written by Robert A. Lynch (copied in type by his daughter Eleanor M. Lynch) who was the great grandfather of Susie's husband and the grandson of Conlaw Peter Lynch (and extensively great nephew of the other siblings of Conlaw Peter as mentioned in the Lynch Family Register) was called Conlaw Lynch. Conlaw was said to be a given name exclusive to our branch of the Lynch family, except where it was used by families who married into the Lynch family.
CONLAW PETER LYNCH - Set of from Ireland in 1819, with his wife ELEANOR (NEISON) LYNCH and their children, and settled in Cheraw, South Carolina. According to an article in 'Catholicity in the Carolinas and Georgia', Eleanor's father had objected to her marriage to Conlaw. Conlaw and Eleanor had first arrived in Georgetown and then eventually settled in Cheraw as advised by the governor at the time. They were the only family of Catholics for miles around. An incident that shows their isolation at that time was when a man travelled a great distance to visit the Lynch family, simply to witness the "horns and hoofs" of a papist. However, the Lynch family soon won the people over with their warm and courteous nature. With lack of a Catholic Church, so determined to bring their children up well educated and good Catholics, Conlaw and Eleanor would dress their children up smartly on a Sunday as if they were going to Church and then teach them and have mass in their own home. Indeed, on a visit to Cheraw, the then Bishop England was so impressed with the family that he proposed that their eldest son be sent to his own Classical school in Charleston. That was the start Conlaw and Eleanor gave to their children and from which they thrived and became great people.
ROBERT A. LYNCH - Was the son of Dr. JOHN LYNCH and ELIZA STEELE LYNCH (nee MacNAMARA) b. 24 Sept 1843 - d. 31 Oct 1928. He kept a notebook whereby he noted his family history for his children. After an education in the College of Cambrai in France, Robert studied law and became an attorney. He was Librarian of the Supreme Court of South Carolina when he published the book 'The Code of Procedure of the Courts of Couth Carolina'. In 1867 Robert had married Kate Penelope Bauskett. They had 6 children, Sophie, Eleanor, Katherine, Louise, Helen and Conlaw Robert. Sadly Sophie and Helen died in infancy. in 1892 Robert married for the second time to Margaret Faulkner Kelly, who was from Canada. There were no children from this marriage. In his later years, Robert was active in charity work in which he travelled all over the U.S.A. to secure homes for children from orphanage agencies in Massachusetts and New York. Another example of the stature and success of the Lynch family. Robert died in 1928, aged 85 years.
DOCTOR JOHN LYNCH - Born in Cheraw, South Carolina to CONLAW PETER LYNCH and ELEANOR NEISON. Eleanor Neison was a cousin of Marshall McMahon of France.
BISHOP PATRICK NEISON LYNCH - Born in Kibberidogue (old name Tibberidogue) in the Parish of Clones in County Fermanagh, Ireland to CONLAW PETER LYNCH and ELEANOR NEISON. With the link to the famous Marshall McMahon of France as well as the connections to Cassidy and McMahon Bishops in Ireland and also the likes of Owen Roe O'Neill and the O'Reilly family of County Cavan, it is perhaps natural that Conlaw and Eleanor's children would take a similar path and do great things in life.
