It is customary for Catholic families to send out mass cards when there is a death in the family. They were sent out to members of family and friends to keep. They can be a great source of information for us researchers as they will normally have the date of death, age and townland in which they lived. Here are a few mass cards that were kept by my father and my Grannie.
