It seems William came from Donegal and his son Robert born about 1867 went to Scotland where he married Elizabeth CLARKE 1890 in Govan. I found one family in the 1881 census in Lanark but it does not seem like its William and James family. The other is John THORNTON from Mayo married Norah (Honora ) McHALE could have been born around 1860 something this is only a guess I am going on their first child Agnes born about 1890 and she married Martin Brogan."

DORAN / SCULLION - James Doran born in March of 1852 in Northern Ireland.  James was the son of John Doran and Mary Scullion.  He left Ireland in July of 1875, stopped in Liverpool, and then went on to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and settled. HAGAN - "The "first" of my HAGANs, came from County Monaghan (I think),  to Prince Edward Island Canada about 1840. I say County Monaghan because of similar place names there and in PEI (e.g. Emyvale, Trough, Kelly's Cross). But they may also have come from County Tyrone.  I have NOT been able to find any documentation in Ireland or PEI on my GG Grandfather listed below.  They were Roman Catholic.

McCABE/BURNS - Seeking information regarding descendants of  Patrick and Bridget Burns McCabe,  living on small farm in town of Greaghlone, Parish of Magheracloone,   near Shercock and the Cavan border,  from approx  1858- 1910,   Had 11 children ( unsure) including Mary 1860?, Christopher 1861?, Margaret 1862,  Bridget /Delia ?  Michael Aug 1864,   Nellie DEc 1865 ,  Annie , March 1868, Patrick 1870, John 1872, and Rose Anne 1874.  Patrick inherited farm and lived there with 2 sons,  John and Patrick,  Neither married and farm has been sold.

ARMSTRONG - Thomas Armstrong was born abt. 1792, married a woman named Mariah/Maria and had 9 children, William, Elizabeth, Martha, Margaret Jane, Maria, Mary Ann, Letitia, Wilson and Sarah.
Elizabeth married a man named Mr. Thompson. Martha married a man in Ballybay named William Herrington and Margaret Jane married a man named John Logan. They went to Ontario, Canada abt. the 1850's, and settled in Malahide, Elgin County. I have found all but William and Elizabeth. McCABE/CONNOLLY - I have been contacted by a lady who is a descendant of McCabes and Connollys of Monaghan and possibly Roslea, Fermanagh. Here is what she says...

I am Monica from Canada and I am looking for any info on McCabes who lived between Roslea and Scotstown, County Monaghan.  My grandfather's name was Michael Joseph McCabe . He was born Dec. 23, 1892.  He was the youngest of 9 children I believe.  His parents were Michael Joseph McCabe and Ann Connolly. Not sure of the spelling.
Some of siblings names are: Mary, Anne, Rose- who married a Peter McGorman,  Patrick, James(was in English Army), Elizabeth(Lizzie) Maggie or Margaret.

QUIGLEY/BEST - I am at present following my family history...
One of my ancestors is Henry Best, he married a lady called Isabella Quigley
They married in greenock in 1870
He was born around 1845 and she was born around 1851.
I cannot find any more info on her.
All I know is that her father was called James Quigley and mother was called Bridget (log or logue).
I believe it is possible that the Quigley are from Ireland but i am not sure.

FARRELL - I have reached a brick wall in my search for; Fitzmaurice Farrell b 1801 who married Anne Burnside b. 1808 or 1811.
All I know is that they came to Canada in 1847 with 7 children from county Fermanagh; I assume through Grosse Ile in Quebec.They settled in madoc, Ontario.
I have recently learned that their first child, Catherine was baptized in Irvinestown in 1830 in the Wesleyan Methodist church. Fitzmaurice Farrell was a member of the Orange lodge but I am unable to find any information there.

WOODS/PITTS/SIMMONS/BROWN - I am looking for information regarding:-
HENRY WOODS   Born 1808-9 in Castle Blayney Monaghan Ireland.
He joined the 51st Foot 2nd Yorkshire west Riding Light Infantry Regiment in 1827 in Armagh.  He Married ANN PITTS ?  They had 1 son Richard Woods b. 1837. Unknown England.
He was transferred to N.S.W. Australia in 1837 & did a couple of trips back to England before he was stationed in Western Australia.  1840 He had 2 more children James Hamilton Woods 1841. d 1904 Western Australia.
Charlotte Hamilton b 1844 . Charlotte m a convict THOMAS SIMMONS This may not have been know for years) Henry Woods was discharged in Western Australia 1849, His 1st wife Ann Pitts d aged 52 in 1862. He then went on to Marry a widow ELIZABETH BROWN 1864. there is no mention of Richard on any information I have found so far, but he died aged 36 in 1871 in Western Australia.
Henry & Elizabeth ended up going to South Australia where Henry died 1871 at a place called Up Down Rocks.
I am searching any information regarding his Parents/ Marriage to Ann Pitts/ also her parents & the birth of any children prior to coming to Western Aust.

ROONEY/ROBB - I am looking for information about my great-grandmother Catherine ROONEY who was born around 1813. She married James ROBB around 1841-42 and they emigrated to Canada. There they settled in Ontario in Perth County, Logan Township. There first child was born in December 1842. My grandfather, Anthony, was the youngest of nine.

I have been led to believe that James’ younger sister, Helen, was born in Fermanagh around 1830.

We have managed to obtain some information from those wonderful church records of St Tiernan's that you have so kindly put on your web-site but need more! I think I have asked you before but did you ever come across any Greenwood details? We just cannot find where the Greenwood/McElroy etc from Gransha Beg family members have been buried. We know there is also a connection between the Gransha Beg McElroys and the McElroy family of Belmount, Fermanagh (outside Newtownbutler) but are having difficulty with the details.
