CARRAGHER, also MARTIN, DUFFY and LYNCH - "My great grandmother was Margaret Carragher.  she married Edward Martin of Ardee, Co. Louth.  They lived in Mullaghrafferty,  Carrickmacross.   Great Grandmother we know was born in 1888 and died in 1955,  they called her Maggie.  Information on the Carragher or could be spelled in another way,  " Carraher "  families of the Magheracloone, Co. McSHANE and McCANN - "My greatgreatgreat grandparents John McShane married Maryann McCann they had a son born 1850 in lurgan his name was also John. McCONNEL, MULHERN, THORNTON and McHALE - "William Mconnel married Jane Mulhern and I have come up against a brick wall. It seems William came from Donegal and his son Robert born about 1867 went to Scotland where he married Elizabeth CLARKE 1890 in Govan. I found one family in the 1881 census in Lanark but it does not seem like its William and James family. The other is John THORNTON from Mayo married Norah (Honora ) McHALE could have been born around 1860 something this is only a guess I am going on their first child Agnes born about 1890 and she married Martin Brogan."


MARSHALL (in the Ballybay area) - Am searching for the family of James Marshall born 1821 in Ballybay Co. Monaghan. His first two children were named Andrew and James. The family is recorded as Weslyian Methodist and attend that Church in Canada in the 1845's .  Have a good record of the Canadian family but can't track Marshalls in Ballybay Area. *There is a family member who is looking for information regarding this family and possible descendents* Contact me here and I will be happy to put you in contact. DORAN / SCULLION - James Doran born in March of 1852 in Northern Ireland.  James was the son of John Doran and Mary Scullion.  He left Ireland in July of 1875, stopped in Liverpool, and then went on to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and settled. James always listed Ireland as birthplace.  It was his daughter's 1930 census that listed Northern Ireland for his birthplace. *There is a family member who is looking for information regarding this family and possible descendents* Contact me here and I will be happy to put you in contact. This person is also looking for information on McGAULEY /  McEVOY - Mary McGauley born 1857 to Peter McGauley and Rose McEvoy perhaps in County Meath.  Mary came to the U.S. around 1870 and lived in Philadelphia, PA.  Mary had several brothers including: Peter, Thomas, and John.


HAGAN - "The "first" of my HAGANs, came from County Monaghan (I think),  to Prince Edward Island Canada about 1840. I say County Monaghan because of similar place names there and in PEI (e.g. Emyvale, Trough, Kelly's Cross). But they may also have come from County Tyrone.  I have NOT been able to find any documentation in Ireland or PEI on my GG Grandfather listed below.  They were Roman Catholic.

Thomas Hagan born about 1786, Ireland, married to Bridget BRENNAN. I don't know when Thomas died or where he is buried in PEI, Canada.
           Bridget is believed to have died in Ireland.

                    ii      Francis Hagan                    born 1819.
                    iii     Thomas James Hagan       born 31-Dec-1826.
                    iv      Patrick Hagan                    born 9-Jan-1831.

WALLACE and related names JERRETT and McNALLY - "I am looking for information on the family of James & Elizabeth (Jerrett) WALLACE. Their known children were:

Elizabeth b. abt. 1815, married Hugh McNALLY & went to Scotland.
John b. abt. 1808, went to Ontario, Canada & died there in 1891
Thomas b. abt. 1813, also went to Ontario, Canada
There was also another female who was mentioned in John Wallace's obit as living in Buffalo NY, USA.

TAGGART and BOTHWELL - John Taggart was born in County Monaghan in 1800.  He married Ann Jane Bothwell (b 1803, father: Charles Bothwell), and immigrated to the US in 1832.  They had 10-12 children(depending upon the source).  John-b 1828, thomas, joseph, margaret, ann, and others.  They settled in Indiana, where John (1800) died. *There is a family member who is looking for information regarding this family and possible descendents* Contact me here and I will be happy to put you in touch.


CLINGAN - William and James, born about 1823 probably in Newtownbutler area of Galloon,Fermanagh.

CLOONEY/COYLE - "Looking for a connection between a George CLOONEY and Anna COYLE?  I found the two surmanes names in Griffith's in Monaghan parish, residing on Glasslough st. but i am trying to find out if they married there. McCABE/BURNS - Seeking information regarding descendants of  Patrick and Bridget Burns McCabe,  living on small farm in town of Greaghlone, Parish of Magheracloone,   near Shercock and the Cavan border,  from approx  1858- 1910,   Had 11 children ( unsure) including Mary 1860?, Christopher 1861?, Margaret 1862,  Bridget /Delia ?  Michael Aug 1864,   Nellie DEc 1865 ,  Annie , March 1868, Patrick 1870, John 1872, and Rose Anne 1874.  Patrick inherited farm and lived there with 2 sons,  John and Patrick,  Neither married and farm has been sold.

ARMSTRONG - Thomas Armstrong was born abt. 1792, married a woman named Mariah/Maria and had 9 children, William, Elizabeth, Martha, Margaret Jane, Maria, Mary Ann, Letitia, Wilson and Sarah.
Elizabeth married a man named Mr. Thompson. Martha married a man in Ballybay named William Herrington and Margaret Jane married a man named John Logan. They went to Ontario, Canada abt. the 1850's, and settled in Malahide, Elgin County. I have found all but William and Elizabeth. With what information I have found in Canada I still have no clue where they came from in Ireland, except Monaghan Co. *There is a family member who is looking for information regarding this family and possible descendents* You can contact this family member by clicking here


HALL/BLACK - Thomas Hall and Isabella (Black) left Ireland sometime in the mid 1840s.I have a lot of info since that time in Canada but nothing from Ireland.Thomas birthplace is listed as County Monaghan in 1821,Isabella birthlace is listed as County Monaghan 1816 (she died in 1887). *There is a family member who is looking for information regarding this family and possible descendents* You can contact this family member by clicking here


CLARKE - Roseanne  Clarke born 1864 her sister Catherine born in 1879, their father was called James. I know they were from Killycrom . McCARRON - looking for information on McCarrons who farmed at Shanroe, Clones, Co. Monaghan for many years.  Owen, son of Edward, born c. 1860, emigrated to Toronto in 1883, returned in 1884 to marry Ellen McElwee in Co Derry, and then returned to Toronto.  Any information about relatives or descendants would be appreciated. *There is a family member who is looking for information regarding this family and possible descendents* You can contact this family member by clicking here


McCABE/CONNOLLY - I have been contacted by a lady who is a descendant of McCabes and Connollys of Monaghan and possibly Roslea, Fermanagh. Here is what she says...

I am Monica from Canada and I am looking for any info on McCabes who lived between Roslea and Scotstown, County Monaghan.  My grandfather's name was Michael Joseph McCabe . He was born Dec. 23, 1892.  He was the youngest of 9 children I believe.  His parents were Michael Joseph McCabe and Ann Connolly. Not sure of the spelling.
Some of siblings names are: Mary, Anne, Rose- who married a Peter McGorman,  Patrick, James(was in English Army), Elizabeth(Lizzie) Maggie or Margaret.
Any info would be appreciated.
