I have a great many old photos and thought I would share them. I will add more as I scan them in. I will add as much information I have (including anything written on the back). Who knows, you might find a long lost relative of your own. Click on the photo to see a larger copy (you will have to use the back button to get back to this page). I have also created a page called Unknown People with photos of people as yet unidentified. Some of these photos have been donated and others are from my own collection.

Please note: Some pictures may require you to save them in order to zoom in to see more clearly.

My great Aunt Margaret with Uncle Joseph, Ernest, Uncle John and two unknown girls. Taken in the 1930s
The back of this photo says "Mick and Kathleen". I've been told they are Mick and Kathleen Scott but I think this man may be a Hurson. Maybe you know?
I don't know who these people are but i think they are from the Roslea area. Maybe you can tell me?

I am told this family may be either Beggan or Donnellan.

I don't have a clue who these are. Do you?

It has been drawn to my attention that the boy in the bottom left of this photo may be the same person on the right in another photo here, which appears on the Quigley page. The man on the left in the photo is Felix Quigley of Drumacritten.

This family was unknown to me but I have found out, thanks to James Mullan, that they are Mr and Mrs Patrick Connolly with Connolly and Beggan children, taken about 1954. The Beggan children are James's relations.
I have been told that this lady may be a Beggan.

Bridie Donnellan of Aughnacloy. This is a sister of the John Donnellan in the mass card and daughter of my Grannie's sister, Mary Ellen Beggan. On my copy it says Susie Donnellan but I have been told recently by an new found cousin that she is Bridie. Incidentally, Bridie married a John McAree. John is a relation of the Gerry McAree who is in the photo below and to the right.
Portrait photo of Margaret McCarren. She was an old girlfriend of my father and was from either Roslea or nearby. Her and her family emigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1953. One of her letters to my father leads me to believe that she is related to Cosgroves who were publicans.
This is a photo of Margaret McCarren taken in Galt, Ontario, Canada. On the back it says "Mary my girlfriend her brother and me"

This is a photo of Margaret McCarren along with members of the McCarren, Boyle and Quigley families. To see the writing on the back click here

**UPDATE - Gerry McAree has been able to identify more of the people. Standing at the back against the wall is Packie Boyle, then John Quigley. Sitting/crouching at the front, from left is Jim Grew, 2nd from left is Vincent Boyle with Annie Boyle in front of him and to the right of her is Margaret McCarren.** To see the photo with the names click here

This was a photo of Peggy. Sent to me father by Margaret McCarren. To read the writing on the back click here

According to family members, Peggy was also a name Margaret used and was called by people who knew her.

This photo was taken in Canada in 1958. I have only recently found out who the people are. From left to right: Francie Boyle, Unknown, Red Boyle, Packie Monaghan, Priest is Father Meehan, Gerry McAree and John Quigley.

Thanks to those who have helped me name these people.

This photo may be of interest to people who know Father Meehan. I believe it is a photo of him when he was older

This photo was taken in Canada in 1958. It is of Margaret McCarren and a man called Brendan Kelly from Dublin. To see the back on the photo click here

In this photo are Margaret McCarren on the right with Jim Grew. On the left is John Quigley with Mrs Grew (far left) and Annie Boyle. It was taken in 1956. To see all the names look at the back here

John Quigley is the brother of Felix Quigley who is also in the gallery. The Quigleys came from Drumacritten, Roslea and their other siblings are Louis, Michael Patrick and Cissy.

This photo is of Margaret McCarren taken in Canada. To see the back click here I'm not sure if this is Margaret McCarren but it looks like her handwriting on the back. The man in this photo is Vincent

This is a photo of Benny Scott, Joan and Uncle Mark McConville and Aunt Sadie McConville. It was Taken in the late 1950s or early 1960s. To see the back click here

I think the Frank mentioned on the back was Frank Scott, a brother of Benny, who lived in London. Frank appears near the top of this page, in a photo taken with my father.

This is my Uncle Mark McConville with my cousin Susan McConville outside Annashanco, Roslea in late 1960.
This photo is possibly Margaret McCarren. The dress seems to be the same one as in the portrait photo of Margaret. To see the back click here This is a photo of a lady called Bridie and some children. I think this may be a photo of Margaret McCarren's sister. To see the back click here This is Hilary Clarke. I don't know who she is and never heard her name mentioned but this photo was in my father's collection. On the back my father has written 'Hilary Clarke Right'. To see the back click here This is my Grannie, Susan (Beggan) McConville taken outside her home at Annashanco, Roslea. I think it was taken some time in the late 1940s or 1950s.
