1930 - 1982

Sarah, known to most people as Sadie McConville was born in approx 1929/30 in Aughlish, Tandragee, Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland. The last of five children born to Susan (nee Beggan) and Mark McConville. She grew up to become a nurse (later promoted to sister). She was married to Charles Allen and had two children, Jennifer and David.  They lived in Armagh.  She was a very caring woman and was well known for helping out when people around her were ill or needed help.  I always remember her for excellent cake/bread baking.  When her mother was ill, she would be constantly driving back and forth between her home and Roslea to look after her mother or take her for hospital treatment and used to take her mother to her house for the Christmas holidays. Sarah died from heart related problems on 8th March 1982 (aged 52 years),  almost a year after her mother died.
